The Manhattan skyline as seen from the boat heading to Liberty Island, where the Statue of Liberty stands. This photo boasts high resolution and is rich in realism. The starry sky was retouched using Luminar 4. I wanted to try a collaboration between Manhattan's nightscape and the radiant starry sky.

ハッセルブラッドX１DⅡのポイントは色。こちらも解像度と同じく非常に魅せられている。シネマチックな趣のある色。ストーリーを紡ぐ色。この色の表現力は本当に素晴らしいと思う。この作品はリバティ島に到着後すぐに撮影した自由の女神。島内では自由の女神は360度好きな場所から見ることができる。自分の好きな位置から自由の女神を捉えるのも面白い。私はこの角度の女神が好きだ。
The standout feature of the Hasselblad X1D II is its color. This is just as captivating as its resolution. Colors with a cinematic flair. Colors that weave a story. I truly believe the expressive power of these colors is magnificent. I took this particular shot of the Statue of Liberty immediately after arriving on Liberty Island. On the island, you can view the Statue of Liberty from any angle, a full 360 degrees. It's fascinating to capture the statue from your preferred perspective. I personally love this angle of Lady Liberty.

憧れのハッセルブラッドを持ってニューヨークで撮影できている！と思うだけで本当にテンションが上がるものだ。まさかこんなに早くハッセルを持つことになるとは…。洗練されたハッセルのボディがハイセンスな街に本当によく似合う。スナップにも最適な機材へと中盤デジタルカメラをこんなにもシンプルに仕上げてくれたハッセルブラッド にプロユースメーカーの気概を深く感じる。このシーンはニューヨーク五番街のハイブランドが数多、軒を連ね、多くの人が行き交う交差点でのワンシーン。”THE・New York ”というような一枚が撮影できた。
Just the thought of shooting in New York with my long-desired Hasselblad gave me such a thrill! I never imagined I would own such a legendary camera like the Hasselblad at this stage in my journey. The refined body of the Hasselblad perfectly complements the sophisticated streets of New York. It's been elegantly simplified for snap photography, making me deeply appreciate Hasselblad's pride as a professional-use manufacturer in designing such an optimal medium format digital camera. The scene I captured is from an intersection on New York's Fifth Avenue, where numerous high-end shops are located and countless people cross paths. I believe I managed to capture a shot that truly screams "THE New York."

このワンシーンは逆光を活かし、よりドラマチックに撮影してみた。シャープネスも自然な再現性で気に入っている。Met(メトロポリタン美術館）から五番街へ向かう途中で撮影した。
For this particular shot, I utilized the backlighting to capture the evening scene in a more dramatic way. I'm quite pleased with the natural sharpness and reproduction. I took this while on my way from the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art) to Fifth Avenue.

The Immigrant Museum on Ellis Island. It's a building famous for its beautiful exterior. In the photo, each leaf in the foreground is meticulously replicated, and every single brick of the museum is vividly rendered, resulting in a work with a tangible sense of realism. The color of the sky also has a cinematic ambiance to it.

I ran into a cute squirrel at the entrance of Central Park. It's accustomed to people, and when someone walks by, the squirrel naturally comes closer. With its tiny face, it's genuinely adorable.

New York is dotted with wall art in various places. It's a city for artists, brimming with the creative desires of these artisans. This area is Lower Manhattan. The exteriors of the city buildings are covered in paint and stickers, making them artworks in their own right.

ここで少しレンズの話に。使用しているXCD 45mmは人の目とほぼ同じ視野でスナップにも最適。私もいつも切り取りたいシーンを撮影できて満足。こちらは朝の出勤途中のワンシーン。朝日に照らされてニューヨーカーたちは足早に仕事に向かう。
I'd like to touch upon the lens I use. The XCD 45mm lens I employ offers a field of view almost identical to the human eye, making it perfect for snapshots. I'm always able to capture the scenes I desire, leaving me quite satisfied. This photograph captures a moment during the morning commute. Bathed in the morning sun, New Yorkers are quickly making their way to work.

This photograph offers a view of Manhattan from Liberty Island. You can see the clusters of Manhattan buildings beyond the pier. To me, the seabirds seem to be spending their time comfortably.

トップ・オブ・ザ・ロックからのワンシーン。ニューヨークと言えばその夜景も見事なもの。ロックフェラーセンター内、GEビルディングの最上階がこの展望台なのだが写真の左端に見えるエンパイア・ステートビルなどが望める展望デッキ南側が一番のお勧めフォトスポット。タイムズスクエアやクライスラービルも見ることができてマンハッタンの中心を一望できる。ハッセルブラッドX１DⅡは夜景でもその実力を発揮してくれる。単焦点レンズでここまでの再現力があることが本当にすごい。
A scene from the Top of the Rock. When one thinks of New York, its stunning night view also comes to mind. Located within the Rockefeller Center, the observation deck is on the top floor of the GE Building. The photo spot I most recommend is the south-facing deck, where you can see landmarks like the Empire State Building, which is visible on the left edge of the photograph. You can also catch views of Times Square and the Chrysler Building, offering a panoramic view of the heart of Manhattan. The Hasselblad X1D II truly showcases its prowess in night photography. The fact that a prime lens can reproduce such clarity and detail is truly remarkable.

モノクロでも美しさを発揮してくれる。階調も自然でこのようなほんの一瞬のシーンを切り取るのにでも問題はない。ただ電源をOFFにしていた場合は電源をONにしてシャッターが切れるまでの所要時間は大体４秒弱はかかるので素敵なワンシーンが撮れそうな場面に遭遇したと同時に電源はONに。一度ONにするとレスポンスは早いので全く問題なく撮影可能。独特の間があるがむしろ心地よいリズムとなって体に入ってくる。私はこの感覚が好きだ。
Hasselblad shines even in monochrome. The tonal gradation is natural, and it's perfect for capturing fleeting moments. However, if the camera is turned off, it takes about 4 seconds from turning it on to being able to release the shutter. So, when I come across a scene that looks like it will make a great shot, I immediately turn the power on. Once it's on, the camera responds quickly, so there's no problem shooting. This camera has its unique timing, but rather, that becomes a pleasant rhythm that settles into your body. I love this feeling.

セントラルパークから五番街へ続く道。日が傾きかけて西日が差す時間。少し寒いニューヨークの晩秋。ハイライト側のコントラストがそれほど強くなく目でみた印象とほぼ変わりなく撮影ができた。
The path leading from Central Park to Fifth Avenue. As the sun begins to set, the rays of the evening sun shine through. It's a slightly chilly late autumn in New York. The contrast on the highlight side wasn't too strong, allowing me to capture the scene almost exactly as I saw it with my own eyes.

日も暮れ始めてかなりアンダーな条件での撮影だったが、しっかり樹木の枝葉も建物のディテールも残っている。このアンダーさと解像度の高さがゾクゾクする感じを表現してくれていて、まるでドラキュラ伯爵の棲家のようなどこか妖しげな雰囲気のワンシーン。
The sun was beginning to set, and the shooting conditions were considerably underexposed. Yet, the details of the tree branches and the buildings were captured clearly. The combination of this underexposure and high resolution gives me chills, and I was able to capture a scene with an eerie atmosphere, reminiscent of Count Dracula's residence.

街の中にベンチが点在している。こうしてベンチがたくさんある街って素敵だ。街のどこにいても、そこが憩いの場所になるような感じがする。「いつでも座って休んでくださいね。」と言ってくれているよう。このシーンは比較的、ローコントラストなものだが、ベンチの足下、石畳にはしっかりとトーンが残っている。
There are many benches throughout the streets of New York. I think a city with so many benches is wonderful. No matter where you are in the city, it feels like a place to relax. It's as if the city is saying, "Feel free to sit and rest whenever you'd like." This scene has a relatively low contrast, but the tones are well preserved in the cobblestones beneath the bench.

この信号を渡ると五番街ど真ん中。手前の車の車体がとてもなめらかに再現され後方のビル群や信号待ちの人々に絶妙にボケ感を出しグッドコントラストに。ニューヨークの息遣いが聞こえそうな一枚となった。輝く街を素敵な色合いで再現できた。
Crossing this signal leads to the heart of Fifth Avenue. The body of the car in the foreground is smoothly depicted, with a subtle blur applied to the buildings and waiting pedestrians in the background, creating a nice contrast. It feels like you can hear the heartbeat of the streets of New York in this shot. The glowing city was beautifully captured with a lovely color palette.
